This book provides a double treat for crafters: an armchair tour of 30 U.S. monuments and national parks alongside patterns that capture the likenesses of Crater Lake, Joshua Tree, or Yosemite. Facts and figures are embedded in each entry, noting, for example, that the Appalachian Trail is the largest hiking-only path in the world, or that Elliott Key was appropriated in the 1960s by the CIA for Cuban operations. Cross-stitch is the medium; a good and simple up-front introduction supports even the newest of stitchers, and mentions the tools, the materials, and the how-to's that the craft comprises.
